Khalo’s Jalboot Sailed Toward the Shore of Peace
By Naser Kamali – Bournemouth, 27 October 2025
The jalboot glided gently toward the shore of peace,
and the sea — in a deep, sacred silence — rose to salute him.
Today,
we gathered to bid farewell to Khalo Ali’s jalboot,
a journey with no return, yet filled with calm.
No lament, no wailing;
only the soft beat of damam and sanj,
echoing from afar like the heartbeat of the earth:
“You’re still alive, Khalo… still within the wave.”
Friends, old comrades, and family
stood with eyes heavy with memory,
welcoming the man
who lived among friendship and laughter,
and left traces of kindness in every tide.
His daughter spoke — words born from the sea’s heart —
and his sister remembered the years
when Khalo, with a smile and a shrooh,
tamed sorrow into song.
His nephew’s translation
breathed through the air
like a breeze from Bushehr,
carrying the scent of salt, humidity, and ancient palms.
Two songs filled the air —
one of waiting,
and another of faith.
🎵 A Thousand Years – Christina Perri
My heart beats for you each moment,
From the very first time I saw you,
The world stood still.
Every breath drew me closer to you,
And I waited a thousand years,
And I will wait a thousand more.
Don’t be afraid,
I will never fear love,
For I know
You are my destiny.
Every tear and every smile
brought me to this moment —
to stand before you and say:
“My love, I have waited a thousand years for you…”
And still,
for another thousand, I will love you.
🎵 Angels – Robbie Williams
When I feel weak and close my eyes,
she’s beside me —
and I know an angel watches over me.
Through all the loves that came and went,
she saved me
when I had no hope left.
Even when everyone else walked away,
she stayed —
and I believe
that angels are all around me.
When love dies in my heart,
she touches me softly,
and I know I’m not alone anymore.
Amid these melodies,
Khalo’s smile shone within his framed portrait,
as if whispering:
“Don’t worry… the sea will bring me back.”
Then, the damam beat once more —
not to awaken the earth,
but to remind us all:
“He is still alive within the waves.”
And as the jalboot slowly drifted away from shore,
silence fell over the gathering.
Only a distant shrooh echoed across the horizon:
Khalo Ali has gone,
but the wave still curls within our hearts…
He became the sea,
and we follow the rhythm of the damam,
so that each time we sing a shrooh,
we know he is still with us.
The damam beats.
The sanj trembles.
The shrooh drifts through Bushehr’s misty horizon.
And the angels,
among wave and light,
escort Khalo’s jalboot
toward the eternal shore of peace.
