Mother, Masoumeh Behzadi

Her heart was a sea whose waves never stopped beating;

and now, the sound of those waves still echoes in our ears.

We are the heirs of our mother’s love,

the heirs of a patience rooted in the earth,

the heirs of a starlight that shows the way even on the longest nights.

Today we gather to remember her name and memory,

in a silence filled with love;

to entrust her to our hearts, and to whisper gratitude

for all mothers who taught us life.

We look forward to seeing each and every one of you, dear ones.
